I’ve had ADHD my whole life, and I know what it’s like to live among the weeds of shame, guilt, and chaos. But I didn’t discover I had ADHD until I was about 40. That’s when I read Women with ADD by Sari Solden, and it felt like someone had written my life story! It was a revelation—finally realizing that my struggles weren’t signs of poor character or moral failings; they were just how my brain is wired. Once I understood that, it was like learning how to make my own garden thrive.
I realized I didn’t need to grow the perfectly manicured gardens you see in magazines or online. My garden is wild—but like the native plants in my pollinator-friendly garden, it has a purpose. In some places, gardens like mine are frowned upon—too messy, too disorderly, too much! Honestly, I used to feel the same way. I longed for neat, formal gardens with tidy borders and planned paths. But I’ve learned that the world needs these wilder, native gardens too. And just like those gardens, the world needs you!
Now, I embrace who I am—wildflowers, weeds, and all—and I’m here to help you do the same.
